Signs and Symptoms

Identifying what is causing your symptoms can be a lengthy and complex, challenging process. Some symptoms can be a sign of many different conditions which makes it harder to pin point exactly what is causing them. Your symptoms could be due to a food you have just eaten, or it could be because of a food you ate earlier in the day, or even one or two days previously.

If you suffer from any of the below symptoms after consuming certain foods/drinks, and have not yet discovered a cause then it is possible that you could be one of millions of people across the globe with a food sensitivity.

Abdominal bloating is a symptom that can appear at any age. You may feel a full and tight abdomen.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common, long-term condition of the digestive system. It affects everyone differently and can have a negative impact on the quality of life1 including work, family, friends and social events.

Skin Problems

Skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, rosacea and Dry, inflamed and itchy skin can be incredibly difficult to live with and pinpointing the cause is often a difficult process. Those living with eczema, asthma or hay fever are classed as being atopic with an immune system that is overactive, with skin prone to inflammation. The condition can be managed as long as you avoid things that trigger it.

Nausea is an unpleasant, diffuse sensation of unease and discomfort, often perceived as an urge to vomit. While not painful, it can be a debilitating symptom if prolonged, and has been described as placing discomfort on the chest, upper abdomen, or back of the throat
Neurological Problems
Migraine and other types of headaches, such as tension headache and sinus headache, are painful. Migraine symptoms include a pounding headache, nausea, vomiting, and light sensitivity.
Joint Pains

Certain foods can cause your body to have an inflammatory response because of a pre-existing condition, a food sensitivity or allergy. Inflammation is what causes the joints to swell and create pain or discomfort.

Fatigue is a subjective feeling of tiredness that has a gradual onset. Fatigue is generally considered a more long-term condition than sleepiness. It manifests in mental or physical weariness and inability to complete tasks at normal performance. Both are often used interchangeably and even categorised under the description of 'being tired.' Oftentimes fatigue is described as an uncomfortable tiredness.

Respiratory Problems
Respiratory problems can cause a host of symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, chest congestion, cough, wheezing, and shallow breathing.
